AUSTRALIA: Four-day weekend? Check. Permission to eat chocolate? Granted. Social calendar? Sorted, once you check out the options below. For family and wallet friendly fun, look no further than the festivities at Melbourne’s Easter Show.

    Melbourne Easter Show

For family and wallet friendly fun, look no further than the festivities at Melbourne’s Easter Show. Entry is free and there’s lots you can enjoy without spending a dime, such as the fireworks and live entertainment. Other options cost a cool $5, including the circus and magic shows, twilight cinema and Easter egg hunt. To top things off you can rub shoulders with a bunch of cute little critters at the animal farm, try your luck at sideshow alley and enjoy an array of delicious treats in Food Truck Park.

    Easter Cup Races

Head to Caulfield Racecourse on Easter Saturday for a race day the whole family will enjoy. In addition to the horses, there’ll be an Easter egg hunt, amusement rides, face painting, live music and a Pimm’s garden party featuring delicious cocktails and lawn games. How very English.

    Melbourne Comedy Festival

This year’s festival will be in full swing over the Easter weekend with hundreds of events on offer at venues around the city. The Festival opens its door from 27 March - 21 April 2019 with an enormous program of stand-up comedy, film, theatre, cabaret, television, street performance, radio and visual arts.

Hot Cross Buns at Baker D. Chirico

A short stroll from Adina St Kilda, this bakery is popular all year-round but, come Easter, the queues become that little bit longer. Why? The fluffy, buttery hot cross buns spiced with orange and ginger. If you only eat one Easter treat while you’re in town this year, make it this one. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
