GERMANY: Whether stylish, elegant or quirky: whatever your taste in fashion, you’ll find it in Frankfurt. And, also usually a lot more …

If you check in at the Adina Apartment Hotel close to the trade fair, we recommend first checking out the Skyline Plaza, right next door to the hotel: this shopping centre with 150 dazzling shops, Frankfurt’s largest food court with a huge selection of restaurants, cafés and fast-food stands, as well as a rooftop garden, has been spoiling visitors to the heart of the European Quarter since 2013.

You also won’t be able to avoid doing some window shopping on Zeil. The longest shopping street in Germany has a row of large department stores, international fashion chains, as well as shoe shops, perfumeries, jewellers and technology shops.  Right in the middle, the Erzeugermarkt (producer market) at Konstablerwache tempts visitors with local delicacies every Thursday and Saturday, and the glass façade of the MyZeil shopping centre with Europe’s longest free-standing elevator glistens further on in Zeil to the west.

Töngesgassesouth of the shopping high street and towards the historical Römer, is considered to be Frankfurt’s oldest shopping street. In “Kleine Zeil”, you can find long-established specialist shops, family-owned fashion boutiques, charming cafés and the Kleinmarkthalle just around the corner – perfect for a tasty snack while shopping.

Just a few steps on from Zeil will lead you to Goethestrasse, with its dignified noblesse. Take a promenade down Frankfurt’s luxury street, between shops that sell international fashion brands, such as Prada, Louis Vuitton or Tiffany. Grosse Bockenheimer Strasse, nicknamed “Fressgass” (in English, eat street!) by the locals, is just around the corner. Here, in addition to the current collections in fashion and jewellery, and the latest novelties at Manufactum and at the Apple store, you can also try delicacies from all around the world,

Head off to the west of the city, beyond the “Palmengarten” botanical garden, and discover Leipziger Strasse, a real treasure for shopping fans who enjoy casual window shopping.  Explore lots of small boutiques, delicatessens and cafés.

The district of Sachsenhausen, on the other side of the Main, is a treasure trove for exclusive items and stylish decorations.  If you’re looking for small creative labels, exclusive delicatessens, and original, individual items instead of mass produced goods, then Schweizer Strasse and Wallstrasse are the right streets for you! And with a little bit of luck, you might even get the chance to personally meet some trendy designers, too.  What’s more, a number of pleasant bars and restaurants nearby ensure that the atmosphere stays lively.

And so that you can treat yourself to a well-deserved break after your shopping expedition, Adina Apartment Hotels have two hotels for you to choose from in the Main metropolis – one directly at the trade fair, the other one at the New Opera house. All of the city’s shopping streets, as well as the banking district and the cultural highlights can be reached from both hotels, quickly and conveniently. Simply book and pack – and shop till you drop.
